You have to move awfully slow to get run over. I mean its literally two steps to get out of the way.

If people would actually pay attention to there surroundings they might actually live.

Not to take anything away from this deceased driver, or his family, I have thought about this since I first heard about it. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved, even the driver that did this, I'm quite sure he's going to be spending the rest of his life in a living hell. But really though, is Navajo turning into 2015's poster child of WTF moments? Last November on 40 in Oklahaoma, in what was the seasons first snow and ice adventure, 2 Navajo trucks, eastbound, one at the 102mm on 40, the other about 3/4 of a mile behind, both ran off the road, rolled over 2 brand new T680's and trailers, both meat loads came through the roofs of the trailers and everthing involved was a total loss. both drivers were ok, but boy that was an expensive few minutes in Navajo's life, just like this tragic death will be for them.

I'm not putting total blame on this driver, there's bound to be more facts coming out. But right about now Navajo ain't looking to good in my eye's.

I'm not saying this was the case here, but have you seen how fast some of these NASCAR want-a-be's fly thru truck stops? It sometime seems like they are on the high side of the gearbox coming thru the lot...many don't even look when they fly thru the fuel island.

There use to be a joke about this subject...but out of respect for the deceased...I'll refrain.

We practice that where I work, too. Cross far enough away from the front of the truck that you're seen and never step in front of a stopped or paused truck without making eye contact & getting an acknowledgement from the driver. Same with the forklifts.

How horrible. My condolences. Maybe we'll all be just a bit more careful and attentive at truck stops after hearing about this horrific tragedy. I know I will.

This is a decent blind spot. Your driving through the truck stop and someone pops out a few trucks ahead right in the blind spot. They keep walking while your driving forward and they stay in the blind spot. Some people don't even pay attention or even look untill they are close to the point of no return.

If you don't see the drivers face they can't see you, be careful.

The first time he ran him over could have just been an unfortunate tragedy. The second time was criminal.

Well, after the truck stalled when he couldn't climb over the corn fed body in high range he had to back up to get a running start...

... (my apologies in advance for this tragedy)...

... these days I where a high visibility jacket in truck parking lots in addition to making ABSA####INLUTELY sure that NASCARwannabe "professional" drivers SEE me before I move. Way too many times I see truckers meandering through the middle of the parking lot, texting or talking on their phone without paying attention. When you combine that level of pedestrian incompetence with driver negligence it's no wonder that we have dozens of drivers killed every year as PEDESTRIANS in truck stops.
