But they can't fine you for snow that has accumulated while you were driving . How could they determine whether it was there when you started or not ? -

I knew about the Jersey law. That is why I mentioned it for Illinois! Now since I as well have an aviation background.... To deice a aircraft properly in a timely matter you need 2 deicing trucks. These trucks cost more then a class 8 tractor not count the the glycol or the 4 men to operate the truck.... 1 man in the truck & another is the boom!
It is impossible for companies or cities to financially afford the equipment let alone going to every shipper/reciever to deice trucks. Airports can do it mainly for 2 reasons..... The smallest bit of ice will cause a plane to fall from the sky & kill many people... And, all the planes congregate at the end of the runway. When they are staged for take off, they get sprayed down, they power up, and they are gone!simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
Ive seen sheets of 1-2" thick ice/snow that looked bigger then a 4x8 sheet of plywood come off trailers and sail all the way across a 4 lane basically ditch to ditch without breaking up.
