    Guys and gals,

Get your decals on before March 1. I know the fuel tax enforcement people in my State, will be out and about looking for violators and handing out citations. Save yourself some money, time and grief.

Technically they expires 12/31. But because some states don't bother to send them out until after the first of the year you have till 03/01 to get them on.

Here are two thing that some people believe which are not true.
1: If you get your new IFTA in Dec. you can go ahead and put it on. WRONG, putting it on before the end of the year is illegal.
2: You can not put your new sticker over the old one or pull the old one off. WRONG, once you get the new one, you can do anything you like with the old one. it is no longer any good.

So, is the IFTA sticker even required anymore?

i'm talking about the actual sticker that goes on the right side of the cab, NOT the actual permit which i know you still need.

You need both decals (right and left side) and the fuel tax registration paper. I still see a lot that only have one decal per truck. Stopped two trucks from the same company few weeks ago. They only had 1 decal per truck. They had the same number decal on the seperate trucks. So the company was running two trucks but only reporting and paying fuel tax on one truck. We see a lot of this, had another that has 4 trucks but only registered and reported 2 trucks. They got 4 decals and put one decal per truck.

    IFTA License (Cab Card)
You will be issued a single IFTA license (cab card) for your fleet of vehicles. The license is valid from January 1 through December 31. Make photocopies of the original license and place a copy in each of your vehicles. Keep the original license in a safe place. Use the original to make additional copies when adding a vehicle to your fleet during the license year. (A sample IFTA license is included in this manual.)

    IFTA Identification Decals
Licensees are issued two vehicle identification decals for each qualified vehicle in their fleet. An identification decal must be placed on the lower rear exterior portion of each side of the vehicle’s cab. Failure to display the IFTA identification decals in the required locations may result in the vehicle operator being compelled to purchase a fuel use tax trip permit or in the issuance of a citation.
