| Can you stop your 14 hour clock with the 2 hour break? (assuming you will finish it with the 8 hour sleeper time) Or is it just a line 4 rest stop and goes against your 70 ??? (in school on this subject NOW)

The 2 hour break does not stop the clock. I don't like the phrase stopping the clock, because it really is "extending the clock". Only an 8 hour break will extend the 14 hour. The 2 hour break will work with an 8 hour break, being you did not drive past the 14 hour and complete the 8 hour break in the sleeper. I have a sheet in regulations that goes over split breaking, I also have a powerpoint (which is basically not put together the way I want) but I can e-mail you this information to understand more than just taking an 8 & 2, but to continue split breaking to get the full use and idea of it! Let me know. I do need a personal e-mail address! |

I am feeling a little quizy right now, and I will try and be supportive, but if I can't make it I will get back with you as I am sure you are anxious to understand it! Hey my class last that log.Hmm where was your class at? l.o.l. You can answer via pm if you want, l.o.l. 70 hour is not complex at all! VERY SIMPLE! |

Yes I have some advice, RUN LEGAL! LOG LEGAL! Never take a load if you don't have the hours Now to the real advice you wanted Look at the split breaking, 11 & 14 hour rule, 70 hour rule (hasn't changed except the 34 hour restart). Understand you must log line 4 time when working but not driving. Look up what on-duty means. Much of this I have power points/word documents under the Trucking Industry REgulations. I am keeping them at the top of the section. Check those out and if you have questions please feel free to ask |

I basicly hit my 70 in the 6th day out. Basicly every fueling, unloading, etc etc is 15 minutes. Why cut into your time needlessly. Now I'm talking it may take 25 minutes to setup a trailer and I'l log it at 15. No biggie. If it's REAL long I get paid detention so I have to log that on duty There is such a big difference in how it should be done and how it is done you wouldn't believe untill you get out there. I say this and Logs is gona yell at me but I'm talking white lies here not government secret lies.... I don't condone the masive illegal running like I and pretty much everyone used to do. It was expected of us then |

I am offended now, you don't want to work with me Now you said something that I can help save you some line 4 time Just because you get paid detention time does not mean you must log it on line 4. You can be in the sleeper as long as the customer doesn't mind and you are really in the sleeper. Read a book, do whatever in the sleeper (dont' tell me what thought, PLEASE L.O.L.). Pay doesn't always mean it has to be logged. I can pay you for a 34 hour break if I want. If I could I would (so now do you want to work with me?). I understand what you are saying and if you get by with it go for it, but I have to be the log lady and say be CAREFULL! I am like your mother I understand the road fully and I don't have to drive to understand it. I feel for you all and I know why you do what you do. I just worry about you all ok |

![]() Now as for my on duty time. Trust me, if it were not required I would not be logging it. The co says they want it on duty, they get it on duty. WHich really hurts my hours. |
