EOBR Electronic Logs - Good or Bad

    Yea, make's a lot of sense now that I know you guy's were talking about O/O's rather than company drivers. Had my gear's turnin'. As for a clean record, mine pretty much is. Never been issued a ticket for anything, shut down or failed an inspection. Just a accident (person vehical) and a incident (company truck) which was a preventable (backing). Nothing major on either and was not cited at fault for the one in my personal vehical. Other than that, everything is sqeeky clean including my DAC. The incident was not listed on my DAC but another one was showing as a non preventable when I was backed into while on my break and I'm going back to work for the same company in a little better than a week. So I would say I'm doing pretty good. (knocking on wood)

    Thank's for clearing that up. I don't think I can handle the O/O thing right now. I may think about it after my house is paid off but not now. That's a risk I can't afford to take and still have a lot more to learn on that subject.

    Bull squeeze. All the pre-pass info, fueling info, toll receipts, etc. etc would still be there. A simple wipe would not erase all those, and further would be available in an audit as they are now. Another bogus excuse that like to lie and work cheap, jeez people sure are getting creative in their scenario's:biggrin_25526:


    And again no one can make you drive, no one. You turn the key. That simple.

    You decide to work there or not. That simple, if they are not providing the compensation you desire find a new company.

    ####, a little harsh don't ya think? Right now work is work. Most of of have bill's to pay so we really can't ##### to much. I may not like it but I just have to suck it up and deal with it like everyone else.

    Life is harsh, and I am very bad at sugar coating my thoughts. I find honesty prevents any misconstruing of my statements.


    It is a simple fact. You either demand what you are worth, or sell yourself short. You make that decision. No one else can turn the key on that truck. No one else can force you to stay employed at your current carrier. No one forces you to receive the compensation you do. No one stops you from demanding more.

    Paddletrucker has it correct. When seeking a job you and I can interview the companies and decide which fit's our needs. Any other approach leaves you at the mercy of their decisions.

    Yea but why interview them? It's gonna be the same old #### different day routine that alway's has been. It just varies a litle from company to company but really not much difference.

    As far as being harsh, I guess you don't have many friend's do you? I'll either sugar coat it or put it right between the eye's depending the person. If some can't read between the line's of what you are trying to tell them, then that is there problem. All about respect. I only give it if I get it and I play fair game. Treating other's the way I wish to be treated. Life is harsh but treating other's that way doesn't make life any easier.

    And I would say I respect others enough to tell them my thoughts openly. Yes I can count my friends on one hand. A couple of them get around on four legs as well(animals never lie to protect your feelings). But I have never considered someone popular enough to have lots of "friends" worthy of my time. In general popular people are that way by being different things to different people. I can only be me. My friends can only be themselves. We appreciate that simple fact about each other. It keeps life simple not having to worry about what someone meant to say.





    And you might be surprised if you look around a little. Yeah your big coolie, and box carriers are fairly typical. But with a little research, some time investment, and a large degree of self determination and a refusal to accept less you just might find something you would be happy with.

    You are where your at because of "It's gonna be the same old........." Not all carriers are the same or pay the same. As O/O a higher % means nothing untill you know what both carriers are getting for a rate. Do your home work, don't fall into the trap of their all the same.

    This and many other reasons. I probably run less miles than a lot of you with EOBR's. But it is my choice. Like said above, I like to enjoy life and I live on the road. I get plenty of rest, exercise, and take the time to eat right. With a computer monitoring my every time increment, I might as well be working in a factory. No, the only way this is going to work across the board is if pay increases. If it paid really well, I might be willing to live like an automaton animal.
