New DOT Physical Requirements

    hey i am working for a company and have never had trouble geting a dot card until now and they are saying since im overweight and my neck size is above the requried limit that i have to go have a sleep study done before they will give a good card for 2 years also i have to go to one of their doctors to have a psyical i cant go to my doctor or they wont accept it even if i pay for it just wondering what i should do

    i do wanna work for them but then again im not going to let them screw things up for me in the future with my cdl's i think if 1 driver has to take it every driver in the company should have to i think it is nothing but plain discrimination and i also think they should have to pay for it if it is a company policy instead of wanting us to turn it in on our insurance and to pay a 1000$ deductible

    And would you believe I had a nurse give me a DOT physical? I always thought it had to be MD but since the carrier OKed it.. RN will do.

    Last i checked medical boards and dot require a doctor to sign on all dot medical cards. Nurses are not allowed to sign or perscribe any medical with out a doctors approval. I would report this nurse or medical company to the proper authority.:biggrin_25513: so wrong is this..

    I thought companies were not using the BMI index or am i wrong that some are..???
