That's the problem, despite the fact that the FMCSA says one thing, you will still have officers, and courts who will continue to do what they want in the name of revenue...errr .... I mean safety.

I drink a little sometimes and have a standard rule that my wife helps enforce, :biggrin_255: that I do not drive anything including a lawnmower within 24 hours of drinking any alcohol.

As a former State Trooper I can accurately state that if I charged someone and there was no RS for the offense, I would have more problems than the person I had charged.

Always bothers me to see them buying in a truck stop and heading for the truck.

Then later, I see the truck leaving before I leave in the morning.

    I wish more did that.

When I am home, it drives me nuts to be woke up for a drunk who has wrecked into someone or rolled.

all this over beer. and some of you can't understand why the public and the politicians think we are all idiots, and pass law after law against us.

for some of you tennis shoe wearing steering wheel holders who think they are lawyers, the brilliant idea of manifesting "1 case of beer", most states require a special permit to transport liquor, and besides the fines, in some states it is a criminal offense, which means you may be jailed and have a criminal record. you can explain to the next 100 or so companies that refuse to hire you that you really are not a moonshiner.

most every regulation or law we deal with comes from a few nose picking idiots who simply don't have enough brain cells to play this game, and they have screwed up a once honorable (and often fun) occupation and now have us seen as nothing more than terrorist on concrete.

and it's gonna get alot worse.

One might think so, but if they knew my wife they wouldn't :biggrin_255:. Actually it's a rule I initiated when I started scuba diving over 40 years ago (No drinking 24 hrs prior to) and carried it over to flying (Private pilot) and driving.
