Sorry, but A-LOT of States consider keys-in/idling the same as OPERATING, no matter if you are in the sleeper or not. And you MUST enter the cab of the vehicle (from the sleeper) to answer a knock on the door, which is considered "On Duty Not Driving".rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
Ding ding ding we have a winner!!!!! Enforcement is the issue.
Condo and Winchester I agree with everything you said...I wish our government would let us live our lives. The problem that I think we are all experiencing is due to the fact that so many people "need" the government to do their thinking for them....hence the need ( in the politicians eye) for more government control.
Society has effectively dumbed down our children and wants to put them all on mood altering drugs, diseases such as adhd in my opinion are fabricated so that the drug companies along with the government can gain control over us.
and no I don't use a tin foil hatTokyoJoe Thanks this. -

This is only a sticky subject by the emotions it evokes. The law is clear, its plain, no alcohol in the cab. And the "Truck is my home" argument doesn't apply here to alcohol because its too easy to slip into the drivers seat.
I drink myself when I'm home, but like most other drivers I'm smart about it. I get home, jump in my pick up and drive 60 miles to the closest liquor store. And if I'm coming late, I'll send the wife ahead to get it.
Now don't get me wrong, it would be a heck of alot easier for me to stop at the liquor store and get it in my truck, (I did once and stayed paranoid the whole time,LOL) but the law is clear. Now theres a bunch of good cops in KY and as long as it was in my sidebox and he checked my lic and seen i was almost home, they would probablly let it go. I just don't want to risk finding the one rookie officer out on the road and losing my lic. Even if it was just a ticket a 35 dollar bottle of tequila isn't worth a 300 dollar ticket.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
A lot of places don't sell singles. Around here anyway.
I like my beer just like most beer drinkers, but will save it for the 34 hour reset and a motel room, or when I'm at the house. -
dieselbear and stlcardsfn Thank this.

So by what your saying I'm always "On Duty" since my keys never leave my ignition?07-379Pete Thanks this. -
Job well done then! Merry Christmas.

I don't know about now but you won't find beer sold in any stores in PA. I was shocked when I first moved out of state and seen it sold everywhere. They have beer barns you go to and they'll even load it for you. Liquor is sold in state run stores and you have to have a special Liquor Control Board ID to purchase it.wulfman75 Thanks this.
