If you want/need to drink while you are on the road, you had better be staying with a friend at their house, have a motel room, or spend the night in your trailer. Anything else and you are gambling with your chances of staying employed.

Wasnt at a truck stop the driver pulled into a parking lot in the middle of Quincy, Illinois. Parking lot is for a Pharmacy / department store and Long John Silvers. It has become a spot for drivers to park on home time since the largest store in the little strip mall has relocated.
Merry Christmas too you as well! -
I have drank my fare share of beer in a truck stops layed over on a weekend all over the country and not once had any trouble but I've keep to my self all so.
As far as truck stops not selling beer to truckers, most check out people cant make correct change let alone tell the difference between a class A license and a CDL. -
BULLSHI+!
I've hauled beer loads and never had to have any special permit for it.123456 Thanks this. -
I hauled many of them as well.
However, when I leased to Landstar, they did provide a permit for these loads. -
This statement is completely false!
There is nothing that says you are automaticly "On Duty" as soon as you enter the cab!
You can sit in the drivers seat and watch TV and legally log it as "Off Duty".
You can sit in the drivers seat and stare out the window for your whole 34 if you want to and still log it as "Off Duty".
You can lay in your sleeper and watch TV and then get up, walk inside and get some food and then return to your truck and resume watching TV and log it as "Off Duty" and you are still completely legal.
These guys that think that they're "prisoners" in their sleepers or that they have to get a motel room for their break time are WRONG!Les2, jagerbomber3.0 and 123456 Thank this. -
How did they find it? Sounds like illegal search and seizure. There was no reason to search your truck so they should never have been in there.
That's the way it is in Canada anyways, but your rights in the US seem to be eroding faster than anyone can keep up.07-379Pete and Les2 Thank this. -
