I just had CSA 2010 training from my driving school. Things that would cause a crash, poor maintenance, over weight, over hours are serious but one instance will not hurt you and will go away after three years. The more time has passed since the incident the less weight it carries. What will really put someone in a bind is when you have multiple citations over a short period of time.

How long do violations, inspections and accidents stay on your PSP?

36 months for the driver, 30 months for the carrier.

CSA will triple all violations from the prior 12 months alone and include along with any from the 2nd and 3rd consecutive years. This may result in 100,000 drivers being let go. If your called to a CSA review at HQ, be sure and pack the jar of Vaseline.

If you've accumulated enough points for a vaseline job at HQ, you probably shouldn't be a commercial driver - just my opinion.

Accidents stay on there for 5 years and as of yet, they are making no difference between preventable and non preventable.

The story on preventable/nonpreventable that the FMCSA is panning right now is that they don't have a way of adequately judging the issue. It has to go through state government, courts, appeals, etc. What they are doing is asking the carriers to data-Q or invite the FMCSA in to explain the crashes from their viewpoint.

Between that and the very tenuous explaination of point scoring levels, IMO the CSA program was rolled out way too early - and is very weak on how the top end of the program works.

The only thing that I have read about the time that something stays on your CSA is 36 months for drivers and 30 months for carriers. I don't recall anything about accidents staying on any longer than other violations. Do you have a link?

    all due to CSA 2010.

    All I can say is......................

    Thank You CSA 2010 !!!!!
