I received a speeding ticket in my personal vehicle about 6-9 months before getting my CDL. At the time I wasn't worried about it and never took defensive driving for it. Well as soon as I got my CDL, that ticket was added to my new license, no different than if I had gotten it driving a big truck.ronin Thanks this. -

I had a ticket 11 years ago, had a CDL, and took DD and it went away... I got one 2 months ago and found out that I couldn't do it - I haven't had a ticket in over 20 years...

Sure, they fall off just like anything else... I've been told 3 years by many people, but I've seen them hang on for 10 years or more. In fact, I got a warning in Virginia (in a rental minivan) and it appeared on my MVR, and I believe, still does - from 2001.
