If it is a dump truck (straight truck) you are talking about, many states require the license plate to be displayed on the front bumper.
It would be nice if the company, who is so concerned for you safety that they would put a sign on the back of their dump, would put their unit number and phone number there also!

A license plate wouldn't last a day on a dump hauling asphalt and dumping it into a spreader. It's hard enough to keep asphalt off all the other pieces on the rear of the truck. Plates would be black and broken off very quickly.

Not calling BS, just trying to figure out what happened so I don't get whacked under some silly rule, too. I can't count the number of times I've been on, through and around the NJTP.

To me thats just a catch all rule for mickey mouse crap that dont mean spit in the real world much less fatigue driving.
And I got one because I miss placed a log sheet and after the Insp was over and before I left the scale house I found it and the officer would not change it.
And the time I got a level 1, was asked to turn the head lights on, no problem, now the high beams, no problem, back to low beams and the left low beam goes out, got wrote up for a head light out. He even said "It worked the first time"BeN DaViS Thanks this. -

Thank God the DOT man caught that headlight mere seconds from when it burned out. No telling how many people would've been killed!!
