some companies go back 10 years. the application specifically states NO DUIS in the past 10 years. other tickets only go back 3 years.
THEY STAY ON MVR FOR LIVE. EVERY TICKET YOU'VE EVER HAD.
i don't think it's your mvr that's the problem. it's your background. one post stated 13 years. in utah it's 10 years. FROM LAST DUI.
get it expunged, it's cheap and easy to do. you simply submit your fingerprints. pay the fee. wait for letter to come in mail. go back. get the paperwork. take it to courthouse and get the required paperwork to hand out. the court keeps one. the arrest police dept. gets one. the prosecuting attorney gets one. the jail gets one. the background place you submitted fingerprints gets one. and you keep the last one.
wait 30 days and submit fingerprints and see what your background looks like now. should be clean.
course, you said you got 3 dui's. so you have to do the entire shpill THREE TIMES.
that's how it works in utah. every state probably has there own method of doing expungement.
and btw. someone once claimed that utah makes you require a lawyer. and calls me out on it. but i did 2 dui's. one was a false arrest though. AND a pot charge. i did the process 3 times all without a lawyer or court date.
and for the guy that says he got his dui 10 years ago and has no problem going into canada. we have a driver that got his DUI 35 years ago. and CANADA TOLD HIM NOOOOOOOOOO.
but i have absoutely no desire to run canada. turns out the farther north you go. the longer you can drive. but i have no desire to play with 2 seperate HOS rules.
and my understanding also is, they run a background check on you. NOT just simply ask questions. -
Well maybe they were checking on me to see if I lied. They had my passport card and license. Probably had the info on me already, I don't know. I only know what happened with me and they let me go through. Don't know what else to tell you.

Anyone with 3 DUI'S has another problem other than a company back checking their driving history. A drinking problem. Might want to take care of that problem first before getting a cdl.

well, since he's gone 12 years. logic would dictate he's probably already corrected.

If it happened, it's been recorded. Think of it like this: you bury some treasure 12' underground. 1 year later, you bury some more treasure, but only 9' down. The following year, you bury some more but only 5 ' down. Now 10 years later, you know you've buried some treasure but can't remember how far down. So you dig and find the 5' burial, then dig some more and find the 9' burial. At this point, you give up because the ground is really hard and you never do find the 12' burial, but, if you had dug another 3 ', you would have ! It depends on how far back the insurance company wants to check. I once applied to a company to get re-hired. They did re-hire me, but made a remark that my file was probably "out in the storage trailer" with my previous records etc. They had files somewhat current in the office, and older files in storage out back. I used to play dumb with my past. If I got caught, I'd say, that was so long ago I had forgotten all about it.
