really, does making sure that your bol # is on that log keep you from getting in a wreck?

    Thank you !

People Net but no prepass. Working on it, score is too high and I think we're still in the 100% pull in range. Elog decal pretty much stops inspections though.

i liked that fmcsa got an earful from congress today.

turns out eobrs and csa aren't so hot after all.

finally, someone in the govt wants to put a stop to this schirade.

and by the way. i've never put b ol's on my logs. i just put the shipper. no complaints from the dot yet.

Do you mean someone is actually starting to see sense? That these things don't actually work?

They work great for mega carriers but for the sake of every small and o/o I hope they are rejected!

No the form and manner is there for assurance of compliance. The more vague and non-specific you can leave your logs the farther out of compliance you can get. It is in fact the argument for elogs to prevent some of those gary areas. You know like the drivers who say logging in one city they are not going on duty until after their delivery. Or those throwing away entire trips.

HOS is for safety, and ensuring compliance is the proper role of government.

Snowwy do you have some sort of link to those voices as proof they were not just in your head? I heard nothing of anything besides the normal dog and pony show of election time. Who was in front of congress? What were they discussing?

Ah never mind found an article about it.

    http://www.truckinginfo.com/news/new...?news_id=77486

Yeah just love the lambasting they took(sarcasm alert).

Landry" I demand a commitment you will not move forward with the EOBR mandate".

Bronnrot" We can not as the mandate was passed in the new highway bill."

Sure you can pick and choose which parts you wish to analyze to prove a flawed point. I have not heard one valid argument against tracking a carriers failures at inspections being recorded so those with a proportionally higher amount of failures(those warnigs are failures without monetary penalty something I agree needs changed so every failure costs a carrier money) gets targeted for an audit.

Not one. Feel free to drum up irrelevant crap about brokers choosing carriers, how terrible it is to have a record, how a clean inspection is impossible. All bull squeeze just like the fruits and nuts they had there yesterday.

Any good truck driver who knows how to do a paper log knows how to do it plain and simple. Those who get behind or Wmess up have not put their brain power to use. To some on this subject it seems that us truckers who do loose leaf are cheating the system it seems. Well to tell u the truth I am cheating the system because its how I make money. Ask any of us old timers out here and most will tell you we either kept or still do multi funny books. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to do it. Were not above the law but we dont have 2 or 3 thousand trailers at our beckon like big mega bottom feeders. I dont need an electronic log to tell me when im done or when to.start. I know my limitations and have logged millions of safe miles my way. Im not pressed to make it to that trk stop or shipper/reciever cause im afraid my electronic log will say different. Its bad enough a cdl holder is treated like a red headed step child by companies who dont care. Tell me how many company drivers will honestly be.promoted to an inside job at the companies they work for. Maybe just a few select but companies dont want them in safety or dispatch because a real driver would be to honest and side with drivers so they hire people who have no business being in trucking trying to dictate what a driver should do. Csa is a bad thing for drivers because some of the so called points are just ludicrous.

I have to disagree with you here, because that's how I got into the business.

and just out of spit I'll disagree with you here. I don't think CSA is a perfect system, but it's not all together bad for drivers.

Tracking the driver who works at the direction of non truckers and yet leaving the company at the point of tracking for two years is good for the driver?

    You are truly unaware.

Meltom u can disagree with me thats perfectly fine but you truly have no idea what we as.drivers go thru each and everyday. When u hire dispatchers who have no clue what its like on the road or a person whos been promoted to safety from within who gets a training course then is a safety person you can tell me that that is.the way its run. Maybe companies should hire drivers and put.them in training class because in my opinion these wannabe dispatchers and safety people know jack. They go home at 5 and could care less if the driver has enough.rest or can even make it on time. Its a freaking game and guys like u meltom then get.to deal with the.ugly.side and either an irate driver or a dead one. You may know the safety end but I know trucking and if you truly want to know the real truckers then get your rear out on the road and learn and earn the respect of drivers. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Im freaking hotttttt right now!!!!!!!!!!
