That's what Lilbit was doing but not what Lilbit was saying.
Not sure if you are referencing my numbers or whose, but over half of mine are legal. With a 53' KPRA is relevant, bridge law generally isn't. With a 48' KPRA is not an issue but Bridge law can be.
Haven't been to Idaho in years, but back then they were not big on enforcing the BL. Plus if you pull a 53' you would be hard pressed to have a BL problem.

Seriously, confusion is usually good, it makes most people think and figure things out. -
He's referring to what is commonly misinterpreted as "bridge law".
Individual "state laws" regarding king pin to axle length are not the true "bridge law".
We as drivers, have always referred to ALL of them as "bridge law" and they are not. They are as you say ( I believe it was you) put in place to insure tracking of trailer.
And yes, I agree, he did muddy the thread a bit by trying to insert that into the thread. But it did clarify some questions I have always had, but never could get my head around.
After reading his post. I feel pretty stupid for not getting 4 while looking at the 2+2 problem.Injun Thanks this. -
I can't speak for other State's but we have always checked lengths and bridge law in my State.

The most important bridge law that they don't teach the CDL schoolies is you can't fit a 13'6" high truck under a 12' bridge!
Lilbit, dieselbear, misterG and 1 other person Thank this.
