That's the CVSA sticker . The FMCSA annual sticker is totally different . CVSA stickers just show you passed a level 1 inspection . All they usually mean is you won't be inspected again that quarter but it isn't guaranteed .

If your annual DOT inspection is past due, you need to get it done ASAP. Or they will shut you down.

    Which month is punched out?

it's a state safety inspection sticker. i doubt it's related to an annual dot unless there's something i'm missing. and it's a 4. but it's the same sticker that's been used for years in the state of utah. i used to be a mechanic up till 13 years ago when i started driving trucks. utah was using those stickers LONG before i retired from mechanic. they used to use those same annual stickers on cars before switching over to the registration program 25 years ago where you now have to have the vehicle inspected and emissioned before getting a registration.

i've never seen the cvsa sticker till i got back on the road last year. the local companies never had it.

the cvsa is still an orange 1. not the new green 1 i'm seeing lately.

If you can't show proof of a vehicle inspection passed in the last twelve months you are in violation. They can then oh so graciously give you one, but you're probably not going to like it.

Off course the truck or trailer needs one but having no annual inspection is not an OOS violation and just because you have a recent one does not get you out of a dot inspection. They look more at your csa score more than anything atleast in my experience.

My company requires a new DOT every 6 months. Several years ago my method of geting my DOT was geting the stickers and having the form filled out, did not want to waste time geting a full inspection. These days I make it clear I want a full inspection top to bottom front to back. I want them to find any problems that a DOT officer might find during his inspection.
