anyone else here getting stopped for a full (under the vehicle) Level 1 inspection, BUT then when they can not find anything wrong they print you a level two report, so that they don't have to sticker the vehicle????

Just happened to one of my trucks/drivers in Vermont, anyone else have a similar exp.????

Happens all the time now days.. they don't carry stickers except at the scale houses in most states and save them for preferred carriers..

This was at a scale house, I have been inspected myself in Cali, and have passed, they did sticker the truck BUT told me that he was running short on stickers for the trailer.

He did write up a Level 1 and did put in a note under sticker issued that they were out, this is fine with me, BUT how does a FULL LEVEL 1 turn into a walk around and paperwork Level 2?

MY FEELING IS THAT IF WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL OF OUR PAPERWORK PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR,,, SHOULDN'T THE DOT ALSO?????

Piss*es me off just thinking about it, we try #### hard to make sure we are as close to perfect as possible!!!

I'm sure I would get written up for not having my BOL present, do you think it would fly if I told them,,,, I RAN OUT????

Form and manner violation. :biggrin_25523: I'm not sure there is an answer to the OP.

I thought of that when the blitz was on and the coop at Tinley Park, IL I-80westbound, left the keep left cars traffic light flashing and the lights on, but no one was there.

A container hauler pulled off on the berm while he called someone to find out what to do. 15 minutes later, the tractor pulling the container goes flying by, hammer down.

    CAXPT and not4hire Thank this.

I get paid different for each type of inspection. The higher the inspection the more I get paid. If DOT did a level 1 and gave me a level 2 printout then I would kindly ask why and if he/she would print out the correct sheet and I would tell them why (I get paid).

caint find anything wrong during an inspection? i doubt thats the case. heck you can run a brand new truck and trailer thru the scale and they can find something wrong with it if the want to. It could be worse I have been doted 4 times in the last month and didnt not get one sticker oh well lets only count 3 times because i was put out of service for a cracked brake shoe on the last inspection. but my point is i didnt get a sticker on the other 3. r u black?
