That depends on what they subscribe to.

The PSP was devised, just for this purpose, so drivers weren't able to slip into and out of companies with violations unknown to each other. I'm not sure if it's required yet, but it is going to be probably the first thing pulled by companies, because it affects their CSA score. Kind of like you have to check their CSA score to see what they're screwing up on.

The DAC is more subjective, but bigger companies tend to use/pay for it. Smaller companies may not. Some realize it's a subjective reference, but others don't care they use it for their purposes. That may entail Non-DOT reportable incidents that wouldn't show up on an MVR, and that's what they want to know about.

    Good Luck

Your PSP or previous inspections do not effect a new carriers ranking. The SMS ranking is based of crash and inspection data filed on their authority alone.

But it is cheaper and in my opinion more informative than DAC.

I understand your record doesn't affect theirs, I mistakenly stated what I meant; which was they can see the kind of driver you are and the kinds of violations you'll be bringing to them, kind of like when I look at the Vehicle Maintenance Basic scores, because as a company driver, I can find the problems, but I can't control the carriers desire to fix them or to insist their drivers find them so they can fix them. They likewise can see if I don't know how to do a pretrip if I have a bunch of vehicle maintenance violations meaning I either drove for a company that didn't fix them (and I was too stupid to leave them before getting high scores) or I just don't know how to find them or don't do the job.

Thanks for pointing out my mistaken phrasing so it doesn't confuse the OP. Normally I don't have a problem being wordy, but I was trying to be short winded this time. :D
