150 air mile rule fortraveling road construction company
Hi everyone, I've found a lot of helpful info from you all here, but my searching has not given me a clear answer on this one...
Our company has a handful of non-cdl vehicles that are used on a daily basis for work, and do not move outside of the 150 air mile radius of our current stockpile. I read the regs for the 100 mile radius and saw the Q&A that states that if your base is moving intermittently you can still use the 100 mile rule as long as you log the movement between new bases of operation. My question is, does the same thing apply for the 150 mile reg regarding non-cdl vehicles? Do our drivers have to keep a log while inside the 150 mile radius and are they exempt from the requirements of §395.3(a)(2) and §395.8?
Also, some of the vehicles are driven to the drivers homes, but they are not on the clock between home and base.
Thanks for your input!

FMCSA has a field office in every state . I have found them to be very accessible and helpful at these locations. Here is the link for the field office phone #s: Field Office Phone List - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
