How do I dispute a csa point violation or psp
I just got back in to OTR after a year or so off and the csa is new to me. I posted earlier about getting stopped in Ca and the problem was completely my fault. What I question now is the points that I received. My center regulator was broken and stuffed behind the break can on the trailer and had one loose screw on the trailer air tank. I just found out from my company that I am to receive 24 points for this. 12 for failed breaks and 12 for lack of maintenance. I did not have failed breaks. I feel that both issues should be on the maintenance side or my failure to find them on pre trip. It says nothing on the inspection report or my repair ticket about breaks not working. I was technically put out of service but was able to patch it up enough to continue with my trip till I could get it repaired properly. Is this something I can dispute? If so who do I dispute it with? I appologize if these questions have been asked befor but I searched and was not able to find the answer.

The points are a mathematical equation. Each violation you receive you get X points. Since the charges are new the actual value of the points is 3X and then it will drop to 2X and the 1X. So your 12 point s is really a 4 point violation multiplied by 3 and if memory serves me correctly each year it drops so a year from now it will be 8 points and then 4 points.
I think the thing you might want to look @ is something referred to as "stacking" or "piling on" where they write multiple tickets for the same violation. I think you might have some luck in getting the points on one of the tickets removed.
What you want to do is referred to as a "DATA Q CHALLENGE"> I have no experience in this so I can't help you. I would suggest you speak with OOIDA or someone else that has experience in doing this. You only get ONE kick at this and you want it done right.
Good luck to you on this.

DATA Q is for when you don't believe the violations are correct/didn't exist. You admit to the two problems, just don't want to be responsible for them.

Wichris No sir if I wanted a smart ### answer I would have gone somewhere else. It was my failure to find the problems on my pre trip I take responsibility for them. I don't feel that getting points because my breaks had failed when in fact they had not is incorrect I qpprecciate you telling me how to dispute this. Your comment is uncalled for.
Flood Just a repair order no fine or anything. I don't know whether you would call it a ticket or not. But it is my understanding that the points come from the inspection report. My problem is that I feel the inspection report and what they are giveing me points for are two different things.
