    non preventable accidents

I have what I call one legitimate non preventable accident where a car came across my front bumper just grazing it. No charges no damage. I also had a deer run into the side of my truck 2011 nothing I could of done never ever saw it coming.

so according to my company file I have 2 non preventable accidents in my file. How bad will this be when I apply to a company that says you can only have one in the last 3 years?

I am hoping they look at the deer incident as something totally out of my control.

    any thoughts or advice ?

    Thanks

I was talking to a DOT guy once and he told me, DOT only cares about deaths, injury or subtantial damage to property ($10k) or so

I cant testify to the validity of his statement, because DOT guys can be wrong

but I remember when i first started, i backed into a STORAGE trailer on a customer's lot, an old rusty storage trailer, no one used it, but the security guard saw me hit it, so i told my company

who in turn put it on my DAC report

i learned a valuable lesson that day, but a second lesson i learned is that many times these companies put nonsense on your DAC so its easier for them to keep you from leaving.

As far as your question, i dont have the foggiest idea, but i dont think non-preventables count, though there are companies who ask about them, (i have no idea why they would care)

List all the incidents on your application, most companies are going to ask you about them. If there is no more to the story than you have told here, than they will considered a non issue. You must also take into consideration how long has it been since the first incident since you said the 2nd one was in 2011 and it involved a deer. As long as it is in your dac report that it involved an animal such as a deer they more than likely will not even ask about it.

I blew steer tire at our previous company and it'd listed as s non preventable on my dac. Current employer didn't worry about it. 2 non preventable accidents should keep you from getting hired almost anywhere. I would be more concerned with tickets and csa points.

    Check your DAC.
Just b/c they said it's preventable doesn't mean they put it on there.

Here's the big rub with "non preventable" accidents.

    Insurance.

I'm not sure what algorithms an insurance company uses to calculate "bad luck syndrome". But there has to be one, somewhere.

Otherwise NOBODY would get an increase in insurance cost, after being hit from behind.

At fault or not, you should have enough experience dealing with insurance companies (by now) to know it will have a direct impact on YOUR insurance cost.

In this case, the companies insurance.

If it is not showing on your DAC report, still report them to a potential employer. Your current employer may report them on a request for previous employment verification. You don't want a potential employer thinking that you are trying to hide something. Be upfront and honest about it will be the best option in this scenario. If your CSA is clean it will be a total non-issue.
