Arkansas permit load dates?

    Just did my first permit load from PA to TX via Arkansas. All permit were valid for 4-6 days...EXCEPT the one from AR. Yeah I KNOW...it was my responsibility to check. My bad. While waiting @ the W/Memphis sacles....another driver running almost the same route to TX had the same problem.

    Is that a standard " buy 2 permits & we get the overweight fine $$'s" kind of situation...?


    Guess maybe I'll call it "tuition"....No?

    When you order permits you have the option of setting the date that they are in effect. You could have had the AR permit issued on a Mon, but not in effect till Tue or Wed. This gives you time to drive, breakdowns, etc. Chalk it up to a learning curve and plan your trip better next time.
