accessory lighting rules

    well i live in washington doing runs to idaho oregon and montana but mostly in 50 mile radius as a farm truck. lets start with are they even legal?

    depends on the state and the cop if he wants to bust ur balls or not typically when sold in chrome shops theres a big sticker somewhere on the packaging that says "for show purposes only" my trick is just shut em off when u go through scales and be weary when driving through states u dont know at night

    As long as they appear to be "factory lights", just that you have extra ones, you should be fine. If you are wanting the whole underside of your truck to glow blue on the ground like a lowrider showcar winner, you are likely gonna have issues. And if you have the factory minimum, or 200 chicken lights, technically they all have to work. Like fisher guy said....just shut them off when in doubt. As long as they work, nothing says that any beyond legal minimum actually have to be on.

    Only required lights need to work, per published DOT regs. Auxillary lights do not need to work.
