I worked with two drivers that had artificial heart valves & got a DOT physical every 12 months. One drove for many years & is probably still driving; the other was a heavy smoker and junk food eater and went on Social Security disability at a youngish age in his 30's. So, get a DOT physical and see what happens.

Any doctor that does DOT physicals will have the card and forms so buying them in advance is a needless expense .

If you have a Petro truck stop near by, check and see if they offer DOT physicals there. Some of them do, and it should only cost you about $60. Unless you have health insurance that will cover that specific physical.

Thank you guys. I will diffidently get my physical done this summer. Then i am going to get the schooling done as well. I have my ups and my down. but i think that i should go to a doctor and see if i can do it. My heart doctors said i can do the job but he doesn't like the lifestyle it has. I told him that i can change that lifestyle, and don't have to live like that. Their are a lot of lazy truck drivers that give this job a bad name. Also same reason for my general doctor doesn't like the lifestyle but i can do the job.
