Just carry a copy of this:

FMCSR Sec. 393.60 Glazing in specified openings.

    (d) Coloring or tinting of windshields and windows. Coloring or tinting of windshields and the windows to the immediate right and left of the driver is allowed, provided the parallel luminous transmittance through the colored or tinted glazing is not less than 70 percent of the light at normal incidence in those portions of the windshield or windows which are marked as having a parallel luminous transmittance of not less than 70 percent. The transmittance restriction does not apply to other windows on the commercial motor vehicle.

Then ask for their supervisor so they can annotate their non-compliance with the FMCSR's on your ticket/Inspection report... pisses them off, fer real!

Iowa nailed a friend because they caught the tint on the road camera and then told him to roll the window up on the scale.

70% is legal but what the written law is and what some jerkwad state boy deems fit are 2 different things. For the cost of tinting your windows buy a pair of sunglasses. Then you don't have to worry about getting fined.

That's not how I understand the law, its says 70% of the light must be able to pass thru, so you can tint the windows to 30%, Which is not worth it in my opinion, 70% is pretty dark.

    bigtruckin89 and BAYOU Thank this.
