Not yet it isn't. That's part of the proposed rule changes being considered.

If one or both team members use up their 70 hours in less than 7 days they may choose to take a 34 hour reset.

One option would be when you finish your driving time, go to the bunk for your 10 while the other team mate drives for his shift. In the morning check into a hotel for 24 hours. You now have your 34 hours down and done, while you drive your shift your partner is finishing his 34 as well.

:biggrin_2556:SOOO, I take a 34 to 48 hour break, does this mean I draw a line straight through line 1 ( off duty time away from the sleeper ) straight through for two days and totaly restart my log book from the day I start up again

    1. 24
    2. 0
    4. 0
    5. 0
    6. 0
    7. 0

    total 24

next day Im back to the wheel and I just start all fresh on line "hours worked today" and above days all 0 like its my first day again?

please fill me in a little lost on what to do on logs after my 34 hour break. Waiting on new trainer as I speak but still would like some input on the issue.

I havent read all the post on this, so if already been posted, sorry, for team drivers, you only need 24 hours for both driver to get a restart

Driver 1: drives 10 while Driver 2: in birth, at the end of Driver 1 10 hours, both driver take 24 off, Driver 2: drives 10, while driver 1: is in the birth

Your recap should reflect the hours you actually worked during the prior 7 days. After you complete the minimum 34 hours off duty/sleeper the total available hours will be 70. Only hours worked after the reset are totaled and subtracted from your 70 to arrive at hours available during the following days.

Some will disagree and say to show all zero's. I believe that could be considered falsification. You have a log page 5 days ago showing hours worked and a log for today that says you worked zero hours 5 days ago. Which one is correct?

It is not a false log to zero out the recap. DOT doesn't even require you to do a recap. It's probably appreciated if you 0 out the recap if you take a 34 so they don't get all confused as to why you have 0 hours available but hours worked on the previous 7 days.. Coming from a log auditor that would get confusing on some drivers logs.. But other info is fine.
Just zero out after 34 hrs or more off.
