Sometimes when I stop at different truck stops, I get the local newspaper. I wll read through the Help Wanted ads and see what ever is availble for the area. I can't say for sure though if I ever seen a drivers teaching job. But I would hope that there is some sort of minimim involved.

When I attended North Carolina Truck Driver Training School in 1964, the manager and classroom instructor was a former high school teacher and former safety supervisor for Virginia Trailways Bus Co.
The school's three field and road instructors were graduates of the Truck Driving School. One had nine years of experience as a driver. Another had been an owner-operator for several years and he had been a flight instructor for eight years after serving in the Air Force. The third instructor had been a driver before holding the position of traffic representative for Thurston Motor Lines.
Preventative maintenance and equipment inspections were taught by a journeyman mechanic who formerly operated his own garage. -
Yeah, being a flight instructor really teaches you(the trainer) about how to train people. Sometimes they(the students) do some stuff that just leaves you scratching your head and wondering what the heck they were thinking.
It is an interesting opportunity that has come up. I certainly haven't seen anywhere near what a 10+ year OTR veteran has seen and I have no problem with knowing my limits.
Thanks to all for the replies,

The first step is getting certified thru your home state ,that's what im checking into right now ...the salary is around 37k
Which is to me is not that exciting but the credential is worth having along with DOT education (law & regulations ) jobs like safety dept or just making your resume look good
