Is not that Elog haters can't even come together to sign a petition, they are working and got no time to make a youtube video to cry about how tired they are.

Most that are on E logs and agree on it are company driver and get paid by the miles and complain about pulling night shifts or not sleeping 8 hours a night But others like owner operators that work for big companies are forced by it,that said I don't believe that Owner operators or even companies driver that love their jobs (that dont need someone to hold their hand to go to the bathroom) needs e logs. As a business owner Im against it, my guys get the job done, and Safely. I keep all Log book nice and neat in files and can trace back 10 years. No im not lazy and dont need a computer to do it for me. Next thing you know, drivers will be limited to drive 300 miles a day, because driving 600 miles a day is bad for your back or causes to much traffic.

i think if the gooberment wants elogs. then push it on the rookies ONLY. who know nothing BUT having their hands held. after all, it's what they went to school for. HAND HOLDING. i'm willing to bet that they are also the moajority of truck accidents.

let those of us. who've been driving before the thing was even invented. do our jobs. after all, we're not contributing to the accident ratio. (mostly)

let the elog truckers SLOWLY take over the environment, and lets us paper truckers DIE OFF.

    i signed the petition.

The Haters like to assume things.

    If you like Elogs...
    - You must be lazy,
    - Can't do a log book.
    - Must like someone to hold their hand.

I'm a company driver, and that's the direction the company chose to go.
I can moan/whine/complain and quit or I can keep doing what I've been doing.

What does Crying about how tired they are have to do with signing a petition.?

    Society has changed/is changing.
A lot of people don't know what's going on around them and others are simply to lazy to sign a petition.
But they will be the first ones to cry when it finally gets pushed through.
I will give you guys some credit, at least you're trying... :D

Any of you remember the listening sessions FMCSA had before the New HOS came out?
That did a lot of good too didn't it.

In the end we all should be able to agree on this.
The Government is going to do what they want to do anyway.

some (not all) are like that. Once they're stuck with something, they want everyone to be stuck in the same boat. Elogs, cameras pointed at them , governed truck, etc, etc, etc.

You see it go on in these posts all the time, once they're assimilated, they want everyone else to be. Simple as that. It's not limited to trucking, it's just how some react. Just like when you were a kid, the neighborhood kids that had to be home early or weren't allowed to do this or that. Then they were happy when it happened to you. Same thing, this is just thee uh "grown up" version, lol.

There are a couple things about elogs that scare me. One, is being an hour from home and running out of hours. I park in Baltimore, if I hit Hagerstown and I'm almost out of hours, I will admit I would usually head home rather then take a ten and finish. Once I pass Hagerstown, the next truck stop is the TA in jessup, and the TA in Baltimore. I park twenty minutes from either one of them. Yes, I know I'm wrong on this one, but if my hours are gone and I'm that close to home I'm going home. Easier to do on a paper log then a elog. Second thing, how long until they put a gps based speed recorder on these things so when you hit the coop the cops download your speed recorder and start writing you speeding tickets for every time the computer registers you over the speed limit, or being on a truck restricted road? Yea yea yea I know you shouldn't speed or be on a truck restricted road, but we have all done and will continue to do it. How many drivers here can put their hand on a bible and swear on a 55mph road they will never ever go 60 - 65 mph and will stay at 55 max, some deliveries we HAVE to take our trucks down restricted roads. You can call me paranoid but Uncle Scam has repeatedly passed laws with little regard for how the results will work out. Examples being emissions systems, snow on trailer roofs, half hour break after 8 etc. what makes you think the next bad idea might be looking at your computer and writing you tickets based on recorded violations? It is a free revenue source for the gooberment. I will continue to run 99 percent legal 100 percent of the time, but will admit if I'm with in an hour of home base I will run over my HOS, so yes I prefer to stay with paper logs.

As for ########, whining, and complaining, remember pschyatrists will tell you it is not healthy to keep your feelings bottled up inside. So #####, moan, and whine away ( also known as BMW), remember you are responsible for your health.

Gps is not accurate enough at this time to write tickets off of. Speed limits change in areas to often for mapping software to keep up. So I wouldnt worry about that. As far as the restricted roads goes... I guess if its a stretch thats a ways from another road they could possible justify it but I doubt it would hold up. Sunspots and atmospheric issues mess with gps accuracy all the time. Hell the cell phone companies wont guarantee the time stamp on text and phome calls in their systems. I cant believe that people dont fight issues caused when companies and police look at logs from the cell company. Now your phone is accurate though so if they get it off there your busted.

Again itll be a long while before I expect to see tickets from a gps log. And im talking many many years.

Nothing like a FACE PALM lol to get your morning started. Who doesn't love the comment about breaking and making up your own rules and then complaining about it being a free revenue source for the government. Lord have mercy.

I've been on the "E" for a month now, after 15yrs of paper. My biggest complaint is not being able to bobtail to movies, walmart, etc while off-duty. The real problem is the way we are compensated. Airline pilots and train engineers have HOS as well and are paid salary or hourly. Put us on salary or hourly and the burden is on the company.
