Hey driver how about changing your Poll to "required" electronic logs. I am not against them , but refuse to be forced to use them. Not one person making these rules has a cdl. Crazy.
toss009 Thanks this. -
Well couldn't edit Poling Wording, either way its Directly Related to the Proposed Law, so Consider the 2 options to be either your For Requiring Mandatory ELD's or your against Mandatory ELD's for everyone this was just a poll to see what everyone's opinion on this Particular Proposed Law is either your for it or Against it
I for 1 never want this box in my truck ever I dont need it nor want it, I have done just Fine on paper no complaints here. Were all Professional Adults, if you cant turn in a legal log and need a Computer to do it for you that's on you Don't try and Make me do it because its too complicated for some, and i don't care if your paper log is legal or illegal, you should be a Responsible Adult and Know what you can and cant do I've read some of the comments and i whole heartedly agree with this one
I am an independent owner/operator with my own authority. WHAT purpose is an ELD going to do for me? This is an electronic management tool for driver managers to know and understand WHAT their fleet is available to do. Outside of that, it is nothing more than big government forcing a small business owner such as myself to purchase a piece of equipment I don't need or want and to pay a monthly service fee for something as well.
I have enough people taking money from me, I don't need this as well. No one has shown yet how this will truly save lives. At some point, there is a point of diminishing returns on the money spent vs lives saved. Mrs Ferro claims this will save 20 lives a year. At what cost? $20+ Million to an industry already suffering. Why? 30,000 people die annually on the highways out of a population of 313,000,000 people. That is a total of 0.000009% of the population. Statistically INSIGNIFICANT. While I can appreciate the desire to NOT have any deaths on the highways, But the reality is, there will be bad things that happen to good people whether we truly want it to happen or not. Life has consequences. Some of them, we just truly cannot stop. I have to question the reasonableness of some of the initiatives that are addressed by these administrators and the intelligence that they are truly looking at the cost and expense of these programs. Because honestly, FMCSA has REALLY dropped the ball on this one for the cost benefit to really be of any significance. This is purely about control and power. It is NOT about safety.
