75 is a nice speed limit ... anywhere in the range of 70-75 is comfortable for me ... especially on roads that are designed and more than capable of handling it. The idea that speed itself kills more people is not a valid argument. It just amplifies the results of poor driving decisions. I go across ND, SD, WY, NE, MT, ID ... all these states are 75 for cars. I find most people cruise at about 70-75 anyway ... which is comfortable, and (to me) disproves the idea that if people see 75, they will think .. "I should be able to get away with 85" ...

I don't understand why a state would willingly give up all the income from tickets by raising the speed limit .
All its going to do is entice people to drive 79-82 mph thinking that is ok and within the limits of not receiving a ticket .

In northern I93 in NH they just brought the speed up to 70 and I never saw the problem with 65 .

It must be Big Oil at work here ...somewhere !! They are the ones funding these yahoo's in office anyway right .

    I blame Michelin.

I hear their cheers across the border already. That blacktop chews tires.

I feel more comfortable and SAFE at 75mph than I would at 55mph.
better make the most of it now before those clowns in the FMCSA put restrictions on us with those dumb speed limiters.

I feel OK at 75 when I am running by myself. But when in trafic, in rush hour, around a bunch of other vehicles, I prefer a slower speed.
