Tonight I had to put a set together and the bottom trailer needed explosive placards. Well it had the flip placards on the front and sides but the one for the back was missing so I was going to put a stick on back there. My supervisor said they all have to match, either all flip, stick on, or cardboard insert. I thought they all just had to be properly marked, in this case explosive 1.4 S.

    You're right - despatcher wrong.
Placard all 4 sides, flip or stick.
    To my knowledge, anyway.

I haul explosives for a living.....As long as some kind of placard, stick-on, flip, it doesn't matter, is on all 4 sides you are good to go.

    blairandgretchen and gravdigr Thank this.

A placard is a placard. At long as they all say the same thing and are not messed up you're good.

Ok, found out today it's a corporate policy, no idea what the motives are behind that one.

Supervisor's excuse when he found out he was wrong. :) Uh, uh, it's company policy. Yeah that's it!

There's no logical thinking I can think of? :biggrin_2552:

Shipper is suppose to supply placards if need be.

We are a crossdock, so when the load is split/switched onto a different trailer we need to supply the placards.
