I heard a truck driver story about if you go to renew you card as of 6/1/2014 if you are over 35% you will get a 90 day card and will have to lose weight. If you don't comply you get a class D.

    True or untrue?

I got my 2 year card in April. I was cautioned by the examiner. 5'11 225. Nothing about the BS of losing my CDL.

Had to renew mine in November. 6'0" 195, no issues and got a 2 year card. For some reason when I was company I was only getting 1 year cards by their examiner. Not my local examiner though.

Renewed mine in April. I'm 6'1 and 285 and got my 2 year no problem. I did a sleep study in February and was clean and all my bloodwork came back normal. The examiner didn't even mention my weight.

It would NOT surprise if blood work came a serious part of the physical. In addition to testing for high cholesterol & high triglycerides, it also tests for many diseases & illnesses, some extremely serious as cancer.

It would NOT surprise me if more truck drivers are taken off the road due to serious readings and results stemming from their blood work. If the blood work results are that bad, then the truck driver needs to get serious medical attention to cure or correct the problem.

It will probably be a matter of time when strict military health standards are being applied to truck drivers, especially OTR truck drivers. The lives of truck drivers, other motorists, and pedestrians could depend on it.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

I got a 2 year card in February, but when I got a new card for a new company this month it was for 90 days. If I lose 15 pounds in that time I get a two year card. They are getting serious about it.
