    Got a letter my from my state DMV today. FRP, which stands for Full Reciprosity PLan goes into effect on 1/1/15. Cab card will then automatically have all jurisdictions, and carriers will pay fees based on your fleets actual distance.No trip permits if you go someplace not on your cab card now. Whoopee, more stuff to figure out, remember, whatever. At least it sounds very logical.

    I will believe it when I see it. Not that I think you are lying, it just seems too simple and makes sense. That almost never happens with gov administrations.

    [h=1]Changes to the International Registration Plan (IRP)[/h] [h=2]Coming Jan. 1, 2015 (new)[/h]
    [h=3]IRP ballot change effective Jan. 1, 2015[/h] The IRP community passed a ballot implementing the Full Reciprocity Plan (FRP). The FRP will be more efficient and flexible for member jurisdictions and registrants by granting full reciprocity for all apportioned vehicles registered under the IRP in all member jurisdictions. [h=3]How will FRP work?[/h]
    • All jurisdictions will be displayed on the cab card, so you no longer need to select the jurisdictions you intend to operate it in.
    • Registration fees will be based on your fleet’s actual distance for the reporting period; estimating distance will no longer be necessary.
    • Adding jurisdiction supplements will be eliminated.
    • The IRP registered vehicles will no longer need trip permits.
    • New carriers without an IRP history will pay fees based on the Iowa estimated distance chart for the initial application.
    • Carriers will be registered under the FRP rules when they renew their IRP during the calendar year of 2015.

    I found that on the Iowa site, but it is worded exactly as the one I got in the mail from VT.

    I don't get it either, just eliminate the cab card completely at that point and just issue the sticker.

    Its so you can still show that you are registered for higher weight in the states that require you to be registered for the weight on your over weight permit.

    The part that stands out on the MO website is "would almost surely mean greater revenues for the jurisdictions".

    In case you need it translated... It will cost more for you to register your truck.
