Yeah what he said.
If you were home for 3 weeks you could theoretically do another reset your second day out.
Work one day and do another reset.
Don't know why you would but it's possible.
First restart after home time

Count the hours up between the last time you went off duty...They must be a mimnimum of 168 hrs between the time you went off duty till the time you take a reset with two periods between 1 and 5 AM of off duty.. If you have reset again during that 168 hr period you are in violation, period end of story....As to the computer elogs keeping track they are not always accurate and some of the systems do don have the updated software in them as of yet....so the elog may say you are not in violation of the 168 hr law and gives you a fresh 70 but if Mr. DOT counts up the hours and finds you in violation you are getting a ticket.

Recap wouldn't work for me this time, this load will eat about 50 hours leaving me with 20 hours on Monday afternoon. -

You can only count one 34 per 168 hrs since your last 34 reset. Even though you might be forced to sit 2 days, you would not qualify to log it as a restart..thus continue recapping when returning to duty until you satisfy the 168 hrs rule since your last 34. Simply put the 34 restart is tied directly to the the last time you qualified.

I hope I dont add to the confusion but, tell us why you want to do another reset on Friday after just coming back on, on Tuesday...??? Is it because you normally work Monday - Friday etc??
Your reason for wanting to reset may provide a clue to some specific rule exemption etc..
Honestly, I cant add any quality answer to your question but.. My situation, working 5 days a week (M - F) & home every night may be why you're wanting to reset on Friday etc??
Again, I hope I am not confusing the thread more than it already is... -

If you "claimed' a restart in your log 3 weeks ago, you should be able to do another now. This isn't entirely clear in the regulations. Imagine that.

Actually, he wouldn't have needed to do a restart at all. He hasn't driven in the last 8 days.
Flyer Thanks this.
