I am from CA and have trucked over 1 million miles in all 48 states. I am appalled that after road construction in CA, I have seen numerous instances of confusing road stripes, or lack thereof. Sometimes instead of road stripes, dull reflectors are in place that are only useful at night when headlights reflect off of them. It can be very difficult to find proper lane position, and is very dangerous. Most other states do an excellent job of painting fresh, clear bright white road stripes, or even solid lines so that drivers are not confused as to where the actual lane is!
I am hoping someone has some ideas about this. Can some Federal safety agency be approached? Do other drivers agree with me about CA, or am I the only one who thinks this is a serious issue?

Here is two ideas for you
the first. MOVE
the second.......don't drive California
I don't ever have a problem with Cali, as I don't live there or deliver there. Seems pretty simple to me -
skellr Thanks this.

I wonder how many have got ill from the chemical agents, probably none.Just another way to spend that money on something that isn't vital to the public.

I have news for you...other states have the same problem.
I drive all over TX,OK,AR,LA...I see plenty of roads with worn or completely missing stripes.
It's just a budget problem everywhere.
After all, why would we want to paint stripes when we can complain and legislate safety instead?Wild Murphy Thanks this. -
I'll never forget the tire marks at an intersection that had one approach recently repaved (SL 25). Motorists turning left from that approach left asphalt residue in the opposing lanes for literally 100 yards and beyond.
