So I moved to TX from PA about 10 months ago., transferred my CDL and retook my hazmat, the whole 9 yards. I am applying for a new job now and the new company got back to me today and said before they can finish processing my paperwork they need a "letter of proof" from the TX DPS that my old CDL from PA was destroyed and turned in when I got my TX one. RED FLAG to me instantly as I assumed TX would never issue me a new CDL without destroying/invalidating my PA one ( I remember the lady printing my new TX license and chopping up my PA one when I get the new one in TX ) so I make a phone call to the Texas DPS in Austin. Nope they don't even supply a letter/statement like that as you can only have one CDL at a time and my new TX one automatically cancelled my PA one. They suggested I call PA DMV for clarification. I call PA and they say print out a copy of your PA driving record and give them that. So I pay the $8 and download it and the only thing it says is " Type: OUT OF STATE " no dates or anything about it being invalid. Can anyone shed any light on this?

If your PA driving record says out of state it means your PA license is no longer valid. You are now an out of state licensed driver.Don't know if that will do for your new company.

Sounds a little over zealous to me. Maybe that person is new? CDLIS is tied to all 50 states. It is impossible to hold two CDLs at one time. TX or any state as far as that goes would never issue you a CDL without first checking the computer.
All they have to do is request a MVR report from PA and will find out it's not active.
This will suffice.
