    I guess you'll have to pay $50,000 a year per truck for insurance. Sounds reasonable....

    Here is a scary thought... Maybe the people we think are so stupid in Washington are really actually kinda smart. Every change we think makes no sense is actually part of a greater plan. For instance, the HOS change to the 34 reset. In order to meet the "two periods of 1 am to 5 am" more trucks are pushed into daytime driving. Daytime driving actually exposes trucks to greater risk of accidents due to more 4 wheelers on the road. This exposure creates a new set of statistics showing more truck accidents and justifies the move to higher insurance coverage in the future.

    Might sound a little like a conspiracy theory but how else do you justify higher insurance unless the statistics change going forward.

    Of course the ATA says that, most all of their members are self insured so it won't cost them a dime......

    $100,000 for 4 wheelers, it should be $500,000.
