I have always heard my whole life about Cali slowly sinking into the ocean.... wish there were some way to speed up the process.

well, if i read about it on the internet, i'd imagine you could probably do the same thing.

i was doing a search for some obd2 programs for my laptop 6 years ago when i stumbled on some articles. but i do remember something being said the last time i had to go to a county wide emissions meeting for the new emissions bar program coming out. to which has already died in place of the existing program in place today. and that meeting was in 99.

so, unless your a retired emissions inspector, i would imagine none of you would have heard about it. but google is your friend and you will find lots of articles.

    OBD3 it's called.

obd2 came out in 96. so you know it's time for a techonology change.

obd1 became standardized in 81. maybe sooner.

Well, my 2013 glider with a 2000 pre-egr Series 60 in it sure has more work than I can get done. And the mpg's are in the high 7 low 8 category, and that is hauling bulk commodities like rolled oats and oatmeal, pet food plant to plant, bulk dried eggs, steel coils, with some lighter BD medical and packaging thrown in.

Here is a couple of recent weeks..... to be fair, the mpg shown is off of the ECM, and that is off by about .4 mpg. So subtract that. Still not bad.
