I got pulled over by dot today. they then led me up to a scale and weighed me everything was legal, when he pulled me over i could see him looking at my tires/breaks as he walked up my truck. ect everything good so he decided no to do a truck inspection. and just checked my weight printed me off a peice of paper that showed my weight and said i was good to go. im just wondering if this counts as a passed inspection or if it counts for nothing like rolling threw a open weight station.

the piece of paper he printed off and gave me basically looks like this other than personal info deleted

they did not check my logs or paperwork, personally i think i should get credit for a full vehicle inspection because it was obvious while he was walking up my truck he was looking it over to decide if he was going to do a full inspection or not and obviously saw nothing wrong. i know i wont get credit for that as he didn't write anything up for it but do i get any kind of + points for this

Don't think so, it doesn't say what level inspection it is

No. And you don't get any positive points for a clean inspection anyway -- they're all demerits. The best that happens is a clean inspection dilutes the effect of dirty inspections.

that is my thought, as well. basically the only thing he officially checked was my weight.

and by + points, i mean that if i ever end up with a bad inspection (none so far) that my percentage of good vrs. bad inspections will still be good.

i kinda figured that this one probably wouldn't count as a inspection but it seems if they pull you over and bring you in your should get credit for a inspection if they would have found something they surly would have done a inspection after all.

No but they enter your info. in the sys. so you should make note of weight ck. on the log so later on it wont come back on you?

looks like all you got was a weight ticket. not an inspection. doesn't matter if he looked you over. they do that anyways as you roll on by their shack. happens all across the country. mostly as they're sitting there looking through the window though.

Part of your job is to make sure that your equipment is in proper working order. You get to continue collecting a paycheck, that is your reward. I'm amazed when people feel that they deserve anything more than a paycheck for simply doing their job.

Where does this idea of getting credit come from?

It isn't a game where you accumulate points and get a prize at the end of the year? LOL!

If you wanted a level one, then you could have asked for it, passing it you would most likely get a nice sticker on the windshield and that's about it.

I haven't heard the change in the policies of how the inspection system works, getting dinged for a violation and a csa point means that there is no way you can erase or mitigate the points by positive inspections because if that was the case, a lot of trucks would be getting inspected by companies/owners who have poor inspection records to lower their bad scores with a lot of drivers "accidently" getting inspected for the same reason.
