Just be honest about what is asked on the application. If it asks if you have ever had your license suspended, (and it WILL ask this,) just be truthful about it. Considering the length of time since your violations, unless you have other problems, this should not hamper you.

Of course, if the question is not asked, then don't bring it up. Just don't try to get away with lying about it. That is cause for termination in the event that it comes to light after you are hired.

    Good Luck!

What about us young guys (I'm gonna be 22 the 27th of this month) who haven't worked for 10 yrs.?? Oh well, guess it doesn't matter, cuz I'm already pre-hired by 2 companies. I had a DWI back in '03 as well, but that was expunged off my record due to a great lawyer.

From the day I got my license I was hell behind a wheel! As I got older I only learned from my mistakes on how to maneuver better which brought on higher speeds. By the time I moved to Central Florida, from about 1980 to about 1995 I never had a vehicle that I didn’t know how fast it would go! Especially in Central Florida where I was the worse! Looking back I believe I was the worse driver that I’ve ever seen! (I’m sure there were and are worse!) I had some pretty fast vehicles too! I had a cutlass that I drove all the time at just over 150 mph and that’s probably why I was never caught in it! HaHaHa….. I used to run the law every time I thought I could out run them and I always did although there were a few times when I thought I was going to jail but I got away! I’m sure a lot of you can say the same thing I’m about to say…… Now just think of some of the stupid things you’ve done!....... Yea! It’s a wonder I’m alive today after some of the things I’ve done in a car alone! Anyway there was a time “when I lived in Florida” when I had over 6 suspensions on my license in 3 years! I wasn’t really counting them but one day when I went to get some insurance the agent told me that. Then he said “and you need to take care of the suspension that’s on your license now before we can insure you!” ####! Today that was many, many years ago and I consider people who drive like I used to an idiot! Well, that’s what I was and I survived it! I was a dope smoking, Wild Turkey drinking fool! Funny how time can change a person if they can only survive their younger days! When I got my CDL and then applied for my first driving job with USA Truck, I guess I still didn’t know any better, I figured I was gona be sent back home with out a job but I called Tallahassee, Fl to see what they had on my driving record and they said there was nobody with that name, DL number or SS number that ever lived in the state of Florida! I said OH! OK! Good bye! I never got a DUI which is kind of amazing because I did drink and drive and then get into races with people!

It seems to me after skimming through the regulations that 3 years seems to be the key in the State's handling. However I know some companies may go back further due to insurance rates. Anything prior to 3 years is more company standards or if your CDL is discharged for longer than 3 years.

GO to this link FMCSA and read this info and see if it answers your question. I just skimmed so not sure, please read it and see what you think?

I know CRST was holding a charge on my fiance and by the company I work for (big company) would of hired him, if he had experience (which he didn't) CRST told him that he could never reapply due to the Driving while intoxicated charge (I think that's bull crap).

I'm only 34, and I still think 105 is way too fast!

I have CDL permits that haven't been used for 3 years, and I can't get this state to remove them. So anything I do STICKS like I am driving a class "A" rig!

The only thing that caught my attention and worried me... there seemed to be some serious temptation which was hard to control. even at an older age. suspensions at 22, maybe... but 105 in what, your mid to late 40s ? wow, I am 24 and 105 is crazy... one can die just fine at 60... 105 is just asking to take others with you
