I saw double yellows post after I posted my reply. We always taught students 4/32 on steering and 2/32 on drivers and trailer for their PTI. -

If he's talking about OOS criteria, it is 2/32 for steering and 1/32 everywhere else.

Can't see it real good, but if that's the only bad spot in the tire its likely a broken belt/'s which would probably cause a blow out before it looked bad enough for a ticket.
