    Just because you won't get put OOS for it does not mean you can't be cited for it.

    Wrong steering must be 4/32. Trailer or drive can be 2/32.

    I saw double yellows post after I posted my reply. We always taught students 4/32 on steering and 2/32 on drivers and trailer for their PTI.

    you are correct, I mistyped when I added steer, I meant to type trailer, I will edit that

    If he's talking about OOS criteria, it is 2/32 for steering and 1/32 everywhere else.


    Edit: I skipped past the post where this was already covered....

    A ticket can be written for less than 4/32 on steering and 2/32 every where else, but yes OOS is 2/32 & 1/32. That said I would not drive a truck with those bald tires and no one can make you.

    Can't see it real good, but if that's the only bad spot in the tire its likely a broken belt/'s which would probably cause a blow out before it looked bad enough for a ticket.
