There’s wearable computers coming now that we’ll be able to tell whether or not a driver is having a diabetes [attack] … whether or not he’s fatigued because you’re going to be able to tell something about the oxygen content in his blood by a wearable computer,” Menig said, adding that he is a consultant to the trucking industry as well as working in aerospace studies. “So there’s even more technology coming that we know about.”

If a giant corporation can make money doing it, it'll be done to us.
There's no more passive, captive population than truckers...

China already has those & they are worn like a wrist watch.
They also have a device to check blood sugar levels; you just lay your hand on it and it takes a reading without having to prick your finger for blood. It looks like an upside down smooth bowl; just lay your palm on it and get a reading in a couple of seconds.

Im sorry but no ####### thank you. No way in hell will I ever be forced to us something like that. I have this thing called a brain and when I get to tired to drive, I pull over and go to sleep.

That's the problem except it happens at 70mph into the wrong lane.

I like the part about Drive Cam recording the speed limit and the overlay. That could actually be a useful tool. From a safety standpoint I could see where the wearable computer could be a double edged sword. It can certainly give you more information for to decide if your fleet is okay to drive, but it's likely to bury you if you don't act every single time someone is outside of the parameters that you set to determine who's able to operate and who's not.... Sometimes too much information is a bad thing.

Shock collars...lol. If the mega's CEO's read these boards they will have some new brain farts now. They will have shock collars designed for drivers like the kind that people use to train dogs with.
I can see it now.........get over 62 mph and ZAP, have to tap the brakes too hard....ZAP, too many rpm's going thru the gears.....ZAP, talk sassy to a dispatcher.....ZAP, late for a pick or delivery....ZAP, getting less than 9 mpg.....ZAP.... the list could be endless hahahhahahahaa.
