I hope it doesn't. But I have to assume the worst.

Yes...until he gets it cleared up...

The reason for this is all those guys who failed exams and kept shopping for a doctor to pass them without correcting their problems....

When applying to a new company you should find out if they make you use their doctor or you can use yours...i prefer mine because he already knows me.

I don't understand how the national database prevents people from doctor shopping. It's still only one doctor's opinion. You still have a medical card that doesn't expire until next year. But due to the new rule, the doctors performing the exams now need to be certified so it's possible you can't go back to this doctor for another card. Find a doctor who doesn't work for Schneider. Also, it's not clear if he failed you on the actual exam or just disqualified you based on Schneider's rules, so this was never reported in the first place. Either way, find a new doctor. Don't let you future be affected because of one person's opinion.

A few months back I went in for my Med card and got flagged for sleep apnea. I took the 3 month provisional and lost 25 pounds, then retested with another physician. I passed and that flag went the way of the dinosaurs. My company also stated that the certified doctors are operating by guidelines and that recommendations WERE NOT mandatory.

@Peter_x, that is what I would assume but their not clear if this is a company physical/medical examination or an actual DOT medical examination. One thing I did fill out was a Medical card, similar to the one I already have but a bit smaller and doesn't have the protective plastic cover on it. But this doctor did said, he won't sign off and has reported it that I've been disqualified. I feel that I need a second opinion but I guess that won't happen.

Understood, buzz. Don't give up yet. There might be a way...
Someone might have some information to help you out.

I was mainly asking tow614 about the regs on this, per 123456's request.
    A link would be good.

As for your past medical history, what's in the past is in the past and if you have no problem any more requiring medication, then it is what it is. What you don't tell is as important as what you do tell about your medical history. If you are healthy and good to go as a driver and this is not an issue, then there it is. The more you tell, the more you'll get scrutinized and questioned and that will mean the doc will have to err on the side of caution, which means he won't pass you.

Here's a thread from here about this: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...140-can-you-drive-truck-adhd.html#post1345209

If you are not taking medication now, I wouldn't even mention it, but that's just my two cents.

The reporting requirement makes things tricky.
The best way to handle this would probably be to try a different company, take their physical, and take that note from your physician that states you're good to go and not taking medication. Maybe the next doc won't be such a corporate dick head.
Keep trying. Another doc can pass you, but don't mention having failed a DOT exam recently.
They (both the doc and the company) just want/need to cover their arses.
