Well, he asked if I was taking medication and I said no, I wasn't. How he found out was asking me about what medication that I taken in the past and that is where this whole mess started. I wasn't aware that ADHD had such an effect that it could stop the wheels turning in starting my career that I was so excited for. But regardless, I now have to see a Psychiatrist to get the wheels moving. Thats the only way I can get signed off according to this doctors.

This is just another example of how the driver shortage is directly proportional to the amount of regulations governing driver qualifications. It is what it is. Zero defect environment.

    That's a gray area.

Last spring, I took my DOT and got popped for high blood pressure and issued a one-year card. I don't have any problem with high BP, but I had been under stress, overweight, eating and sleeping poorly going in, and so it caught up with me. lol.

This summer, went to a company orientation, took the DOT physical on their dime at their doc's office, passed it with flying colors, and then opted out of driving for that company. I got a two-year medical card. I signed it, the doc signed it, and the company kept it and all associated paperwork and I never saw it again.
Did that doc report my passed physical to the DOT database? I have no idea.
If the law says he has to, then I assume he did or will.

I was never technically employed at that company, so whose property is that physical long form and DOT certificate? and where is it now? and is it valid?
    I'd like to know.

If I was you, I would stand up and bend over with arms spaced apart and bent straight down towards the ground and start walking in a circle motion and yell " Here Kitty Kitty"

When I was a supervisor for Penske Logistics, and I had a potential candidate across the desk who was technically qualified, if I had a gut feeling that he wasn't a good choice, my instructions were to send him thru the physical process and ask our physician to check ....whatever I was uneasy about. The docs got the message and they found something to cause them not to issue a medical card.
You can't argue with a doctor's opinion. There are no hard and fast rules. That is why it is called the "practice" of medicine.
Schneider didn't want you, they let the doc flunk you. Saves a ton of lawsuits. Other smaller companies won't be so picky. Go somewhere smaller.

I really hope that it works out for you man. sounds like that doctor has a hard on for that type of medicine for ADHD. Probably one of the doctors that pumped it down kids throats that barely had it. Either way, I hope your able to get a 2nd opinion at a different doctor and get that medical card back. Take it as a lesson learned I guess. Best of luck to you

Doc told me the paperwork just goes into the file cabinet.
Never heard of a data base.
ive asked it twice on two physicals and got the same answer both times

IIRC, they're required to keep it for three years.
