I'm pulling my first oversize load. It's only 9' wide but I'm required to have signs and flags. I'm curious as to if I can drive at night in Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas? I only weigh 48K all together. I have a flashing light.
Question about oversize loads

98% sure its a yes on the flags and signs I would just be sure also pretty sure you need permits. I am only 60% sure it no nights but this is just my best educated guess without looking them up.

Only Texas allows you to run after dark and then only if you have becons that can be seen from all four sides.
You should get an OD book at most truck stops and it'll tell you the times you can run. Some states are half hour after sunset and some are half hour before sunset.
Most permits will tell you this but some like Indiana will say it's on the provision sheet and will give you a ticket if you don't have the provision sheet with your permit.
There is a large section on this forum about OD. Might want to read that.281ric and skootertrashr6 Thank this. -

Gl I just pull my 2nd oversize load today from sc to pa had all te flags, signs and lights, permit, got pull in the weight station twice as well, but I was ready and prepare for those dot idiots

It should be with the permit. You'll have restrictions on when you can drive and what roads you can be on. I have had permits that even told me I couldn't be on a certain road between such and such hours. Make sure you have all the information for the states you're going through. Tickets can be very expensive.

yep READ THE PERMIT, READ THE PERMIT and once more READ THE PERMIT. if you get caught running at night and permit sais no. you just lost your permit. and have to re aply for a new one.that will get very expensive
