There really no excuse for it. Bluetooth sets are not that expensive and since I got mine a few years ago, before the law was passed, I would rather have it on than hold the phone even when parked. I can hear better and write stuff down. I use it all the time. Mine is on right now as I'm sitting here in the even t I get a call.

You're right though Ric, I see a lot of drivers holding their phone while driving. I don't think it's strictly enforced. I saw a guy yesterday with his lap top open on a mount while driving. To me that's way worse than handheld cell phones. It didn't look like a navigation program either.

    281ric Thanks this.

If its against the law why shouldn't citations be handed out.Yes you'll receive a ticket and I think its more then a 4wheeler.Those drivers you see are just lucky they don't get caught but one day they will.I think the only way companies will have to pay a fine is if the driver was on the phone with his company. But family and friends I don't think so.

Wow... clearly you lack the empathy to understand how insensitive your post is... my friend was a good man, he left behind a beautiful wife and 3 young children...

I know I would have a very difficult time if my actions cause the death of another person and the grief and loss their family friends will go through...

If I ever become so cavalier about another persons life as your post made you come off.. I hope someone takes the keys, the truck and my CDL away from me....

I've seen a number of morons still texting, holding the phone, watching DVD players, etc while driving a truck. And people wonder why some companies are sticking "driver cams" on their trucks?(I still don't like that idea, but since people can't be trusted to manage their idiocy, it's going to happen.)
