I guess it's also intended to be impossible to work mon-fri and reset on weekends, so I'll have to tell them we're working 12hrs/day, and not doing logs. What a bunch of nonsense, yeah I'm calling in today, because someone else is a sicko. Oh well, I was thinking of one thing, and forgetting another (so I'm glad we had this talk).

where i'm at it's 4 12 hour days on 2 days off, so basically 5 12 hour days a week. i have yet to even come close to breaking hours, even when i pick up an extra day and do 6 12 hour days. and i'm on oil field hours which allows me to work/drive more than a typical city driver. (12/15. 8 hours instead of 10 hour break.)

we are scheduled 12 hours but typically only have to do 10 so it works out. and yes we are on e-logs.

It's the guberment , don't bother to ask why...

Is this a problem with any of the other drivers where you work ?

If you do go to the 70/8 and only work 5 days . Full weekend off it works nicely .

I don't think that's going to work, after all. One isn't eligible for reset after 5 days, on either of those schedules. It seems this has to be a 12hr day thing and I'm on a short leash. But then I could work Saturdays, maybe (unless there's another rule against that).

So the reset can take place within the 168hrs instead of after? I'll have to reread the fine print (I was just thinking after 168hrs I'm eligible to start a reset). Either way, I'm not sure which is better for this job, since they asked me to work today, and I was out of hours for that on a 14/day work week. We'll have to talk about what they are going for here.

Consecutive resets can't start before 168 hours or more has elapsed since the start of the previous reset.

Okay, I forgot about the retroactive part there (electronic logs have dumbed me down already, time to sharpen my pencil). I'd like to have better things to think about, instead of losing sleep over this, oh well.
