None of this should be any surprise. It's been in the news for a couple years now. Congress mandated the elogs a couple years back when they passed that half assed highway re-authorization bill. And the NHTSA, as well as the big money at the ATA, have been pushing for the speed limiters.

Weather you like the elog or not, it's still an ankle bracelet for truckers. AS for the cost it could be high if your required to buy from a commercial vendor. Speaking for o/o of course.

We Were told to log an average of 60 mph with paper logs. E logs average a lot better than 60 giving more time to drive. I made nearly $400 of black Friday money yesterday just driving down the road and back. Since the e log does everything for you. I didn't need an ink pen.

Good lord....some people's children. You mean you drove 70 with paper logs and only logged 60? So because your company made you log 60 you think elogs are the better money maker?

It is for me. I'm kinda different than most drivers. I think it's better to get less miles and more money than more miles and less money.

How does that work? If you're told to average 60, you stop driving at 600 or 660 miles? Even if you're doing 75 or 85 in TX?
Elogs suck... period! It takes money out of our pockets.

Too many just don't understand. This horse pucky has ZERO to do with safety. It is all about big government controlling every aspect of the citizens life. Liberal big government philosophy. May be relief coming in Nov 2016 if American voters can manage to extract their heads from their donkey.

Just curious, but say an O/O with 1 truck, which happens to be a 1985 Peterbilt, is told has to get elogs, how would he go about doing that? How much would this cost him?

The question should not be "Whats the reason for not liking them? The question should be why should I HAVE to like them?

If if want one, I should be able to get one. If I dont want one, I shouldnt HAVE to get one. As long as I am abiding by the rules of FMCSA on paper logs, I should not be FORCED to get an ELOG thingy.
