This will be my last post on this. I have attached copies of the envelope with the return address of the Kentucky Transportation Department that the notice for the Annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Training was received in, a copy of SB 96, a copy of KRS 291.907, the vote record for SB 96 and Jimmy Higdon's (the sponsor of the bill) website with contact information.
If you are either too ignorant or lazy to do their own research so I have just done it for you and I posted it so all you have to do is read - you can read right?
I may not make any progress towards getting this bill amended or repealed but I do intend to be vocal and let the KY legislators know how I feel about it. One thing I am sure of is that Jimmy Higdon and the state representatives are not reading this forum to find out what we think about this mess and until we speak up they won't know how we feel about it. I also know that throwing this mailing in the trash can is not going to make it go away.

My first call was to Representative Jimmy Higdon Office # 502-564-8100 X623. He sponsored the bill and told me "he was the guilty party and the bill was pushed by KMTA". I am guessing the BG, KY means you are from Bowling Green and your rep is Jim DeCasara phone number 502-564-810 X660.
Thanks for taking the time to help out - give them heck.Terry270 and Moving on Down the Road Thank this. -

Done and done... I called Jimmy Higdon and I called my representative and I gave them heck. Looked at KMTA website and it has a lot of questions under their Q&A section. Problem is they have only posted questions and no answer.
Thanks for the info, I gave them what little bit of piece of mind I have left. We are regulated enough by FMCSA and we certainly don't need the states jumping in and adding more duplicate regulations that serve no purpose.
Hopefully, they will get enough questions about it that they will get tired of hearing about it and do something to at least get the phone calls to stop.
I also called KMTA who isn't taking any responsibility for the "pushing" of the bill. They have questions posted all over their Q&A section, they only have questions and no answers. -
For anyone planning on contacting the Warren county representative his name Jim DeCesare. 502-564-8100 x660

So everyone start spreading the word to all KY based companies with a DOT# operating over 26k!ConcreteCowboy Thanks this. -
Did you happen to ask him WHY he voted for such a stupid piece of legislation in the first place?
-
He also added that this was passed back in 2013 just after the semi that crossed the median and killed (I think)12 people so truck safety was a hot topic at that time.
