Just bumping this as it's now been signed as law and is now in effect immediately.

Also, something else that may have been overlooked.

It's called the "No Defect DVIR Rule" and goes into effect tonight at midnight.

    What does this mean?

If your vehicle has no defect, you are no longer required to fill a daily "DVIR" either on paper or electronically (Qualcomm etc)

IT DOES NOT ELIMINATE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR DOING YOUR INSPECTIONS.

It is all in effect, like an early Christmas gift to truck drivers (leaving out how they screwed the rest of the country, but that's a story for politics) and the only thing people are waiting on is the Qualcomm and other cpu to update the changes. I am glad to see these changes though.

I have only worked for one company, that required me to fill out a DVIR, and I have worked for 6 companies total.... Didn't even know it was a law to fill one out regardless if any defects or not. I use an APP on my phone so, once that updates, I will start using the 34 as it should be used, whenever I want.
